Psalm 84:11 says, “The Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
What a wonderful truth! But let me ask you, is this true of your life? Are you experiencing the fullness of joy and peace and strength and blessing that God promises in His word?
If not, do you know why? Biblically, there is only one reason a believer does not experience the fullness of God’s blessing. You see this in Psalm 51, where David confesses his sin and prays for the Lord to renew strength, confidence and joy in his life (verses 10-12). His sin quenched God’s Spirit in His life, along with all the blessings the Spirit gives. So, if we could increase in walking uprightly (Psalm 84:11), we would be filled with His Spirit and increase in receiving every good thing the Lord wants to give us as His children, all of the joy and peace and strength and every other grace.
This will be the focus this Sunday as we gather for worship. May we rejoice in our Heavenly Father who is more eager to bestow His blessings on us than we are to receive them!
