Interim Pastor/Pastor of Administration and Counseling, Sam Mathews
Sam Mathews is our Interim Pastor/Pastor of Administration and Counseling at FHC. He has been married to his wife Vivy for 23 years and they have two sons: Christie and Georgie who are both studying Computer Science at UCLA. Sam and Vivy originally hail from the city of Mumbai, India. Prior to entering the ministry, Sam was an Aeronautical Engineer for fifteen years. After coming to America in 2001, Sam pursued an education at the Master’s Seminary where he graduated with a Master of Divinity; a Master of Theology (Old Testament); and a Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching. Sam is an avid reader, who loves to read the works of Puritans. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking. He finds great joy in shepherding the church body through preaching, teaching and biblical counseling. Presently, aside from pastoring at FHC, Sam teaches World History and Bible at Desert Christian Academy along with Vivy, a science teacher. Sam is also a full member of the Evangelical Theological Society.
Music Ministry Leader, Salomon Gonzalez
Salomon Gonzalez is our Music Leader for Sunday worship and Wednesday evening youth group. He has been married to his wife Kristen for almost 4 years and is the proud father of a baby girl. Salomon is from San Quintin, Mexico, and Kristen from Atascadero, CA. God brought them together while they were attending college. Salomon holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Music Studies from San Diego Christian College and has been involved in music ministry for over 20 years, and over 15 years of youth ministry. Salomon loves and enjoys his wife Kristen—together they like to do road trips and hiking.
