Proverbs 12:25 says,
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a good word makes it glad.”
Three quick thoughts:
1. Anxiety, worry, frustration, and discouragement take a toll. It steals your peace and robs you of the joy the Lord wants you to have as His child.
2. There is an antidote to anxiety, and that is a good word. And the best word to counter anxiety is God’s word.
3. Since anxiety is a constant temptation, we should daily be in God’s word, receiving fresh encouragement, strength and hope that we need. And we should also be ready to share that good word with others to encourage them. The way to be an encouragement is to first receive encouragement.
Here is a good word for you today from Psalm 42:8,
“By day the Lord directs His love, at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.”
May you draw near to your Father who wants you to be satisfied and strengthened in His love, so that your song and joy may be renewed.
