Last night was Major Leagues Baseball’s All Star Game. Most of the game’s very best hitters were there. While they all may have varying styles and approaches, they do have at least one thing in common. Somewhere along the way they learned to adjust to the curve ball. You cannot have much success as a hitter until you learn to do so.
The same thing can be said to our lives. Most of us do pretty well when nothing bad happens to us. We can get pretty comfortable when everything is going our way, but how do we react when life throws you a curve? Do you adjust or do you respond with a “That’s not fair” ? 1 Peter 4:12 tells us:
“Beloved do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.”
We need to realize that we are going to experience difficulties in our lives and just like those hitters in the All Star game, we need to learn to adjust. This Sunday we will look at the life of Joseph and examine how he was able to adjust to the curveballs in his life and how that ultimately affected his perspective of those events.
Take some time this week and read through the story of Joseph in Genesis and we’ll look at this together on Sunday.
May God bless the rest of your week.
